The challenges of off-grid solar installations 

Through our previous conversations with customers, we learned that some of them were going through a complex process living off grid. They mostly used fuel-powered generators to produce electricity. A smaller one is cheaper, costing €700 to €1.200, but it can only offset the lighting, fridge, and other household necessities. While a bigger capacity generator can offset more household appliances, the cost of €2.000 to €3.000 is prohibitive. Their routine would be to buy gasoline every 2 to 3 days and fuel the generators for energy. It is not economical to buy petrol and fuel-powered generators. Enter Solarbank 2 Plus or Pro?

The Solarbank 2 series include Solarbank 2 Plus and Pro. Both have an all-in-one system that includes a battery, micro inverter, and solar controller in one single unit. The difference lies in the number of panels that can be connected. Solarbank 2 Plus can connect to 2 high efficiency Aiko solar panels while Solarbank 2 Pro allows for 4 panels to be connected. There are various mount systems that you can get at Robinsun so the solar panels can be installed anywhere in your off-grid home, like rooftops, pergolas, balconies, gardens, walls, etc.

Both batteries come with a built in 1,6 kWh battery. The installation of the battery is extremely easy, you just have to position it on a solid ground surface, indoors or outdoors. If you want to stack multiple batteries on top of each other, no cables are required, batteries just connect to each other when stacked. You can add up to 5 expansion batteries, reaching a total of 9,6 kWh of storage. The solar panels are easily connected to the rear of the battery. Included in the kit are 3 m MC4 extension cables to position your solar panels further away from the Solarbank 2. Should you need more cables, check our cable store. For off-grid use, the Solarbank 2 has a Schuko socket with a max output of 1.000 W. Plug your devices into it, using a power strip or extension cable if needed.

The price for Solarbank 2 Plus is just €1.399 and for Solarbank 2 Pro is €1.599. For launch, we offer a promotional price on both items (Solarbank 2 Plus at €1.199 and Solarbank 2 Pro at just €1.399), as well as on the extra batteries (€800 instead of €899). You can get your Solarbank 2 standalone or with solar panels. You have the option to add various mount types and up to 5 expansion batteries.
